The Nirma University
Functioning under the aegis of Nirma Education and Research Foundation (established in 1994), the university presently includes of a top grade – Institute of Technology (1995), a leading b-school – Institute of Management (1996), an innovative Institute of Diploma Studies (1997), an upcoming Institute of Pharmacy (2003), an emerging Institute of Science (2005) and Institute of Law (2007).  All these institutions have emerged as centers of excellence offering various programmes ranging from undergraduate to doctoral levels in technology, engineering, business, pharmacy and science.

The Institutes

1. Institute of Technology
Institute of Technology is the first unaided engineering Institute in Gujarat and today, is the most preferred institution in the state of Gujarat. It aims at producing not only good engineers but also worthy citizens. The Institute offers.

In addition to these programmes the Institute also offers Ph.D. programmes in Engineering depending upon infrastructure and faculty availability.

Over the years the Institute has become the first choice engineering Institute in the state of Gujarat. Many leading companies visit the Institute to recruit them before they graduate and quite a few of them also go abroad for higher studies. The Institute received best Institute award by Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE) in 2002.

2. Institute of Management
Institute of Management, Ahmedabad was established with a mission to be one of the best B-schools in the Asia-Pacific region by promoting excellence in management education. The Institute is ranked among the top 20 b-schools in the country. The Institute offers Master of Business Administration (full-time and part-time), doctoral level fellow programme in management, in addition to various executive development programmes, executive education programmes, in-house training programmes and consulting services. The Institute also offers a specialized MBA (Family Business & Entrepreneurship).

The flagship programme, MBA (full-time), has been highly rated by students who are admitted through CAT of IIMs and 100 % of the students of this programme are recruited by leading companies even before they graduate.

3. Institute of Diploma Studies
Institute of Diploma Studies was established with a mission to make diploma level education more relevant to industry.  It is the most preferred diploma engineering institute in Gujarat. The programmes are industry intensive and are unique in the sense that it has a two-semester full time industrial training introduced for the first time in the country.

The Institute offers 4-year full time Diploma Programmes in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Computer and Plastic Engineering.  Each discipline has intake of 60 students.  It has tie-up with Mohawk College of Canada for students' exchange programme.

4. Institute of Pharmacy
The Institute of Pharmacy was established in year 2003 with a view to promote excellence in the pharmaceutical education and to prepare young men and women to meet the challenges in the area of pharmaceutical industries, education, research & development and marketing. The institute offers Bachelors in Pharmacy as well as Masters in Pharmacy and Doctorate programmes in the following five areas of specializations. The main objective of the Institute is to produce well-trained and professionally qualified individuals with strong background of ethics, value system and commitment to serve for the health care needs of the society.

6. Institute of Law
After having established in the field of management, engineering, pharmacy, and science, Nirma University has sep up Institute of Law recently with a view to meet the growing demand for legal education in the State of Gujarat and to develop an Institution of Excellence in the field. It aims at providing world class education to impart training and conduct research in the field of law. The high standards that it set in have already established the institute as one of the leading institution imparting legal education in the country. It has successfully completed the first year with a five year course, B.A.L.L.B.(Hons.)

Institute of law aims at providing quality legal education and all round development of its students. It is the third institute in Gujarat offering a five year integrated course in Law.

A deep insight into the subject requires proper study of the Historical, political and social perspectives of development of law. To accomplish this object, the Institute of Law offers five year integrated programme B.A. L.L.B.(Hons.). The institute also aspires to impart practical training for practicing law and thus helping the society by producing valuable and responsible citizens.
