Prof Vishal Parikh joined the Institute of Technology as Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering Department in 2008. Vishal Parikh received the B.E. in Computer Engineering from U.V.Patel College of Engineering, Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University and M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, in 2005 and 2013, respectively. His research interests include wireless sensor networks, Multimedia Communication, Internet of Things and Mobile Computing.

Multimodal Video Surveillance System A multimodal surveillance system incorporates a network of video cameras, acoustic sensors, pressure sensors, IR sensors and thermal sensors to capture the features of the entity under surveillance and send the recorded data to a base station for further processing. Multimodal surveillance systems are utilized to capture the required features and use them for pattern recognition, object identification, traffic management, object tracking, and so on. May 2017
Performance Evaluation and Security of Image Reconstruction Application in Magnetic Resonance Imaging Machines MRI that is abbreviation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a very useful, efficient and radiation-free technology for healthcare imaging. Image reconstruction technique is responsible for capturing signals and converting them to image. In this project I am working on secure distribution of Recon VM through a website and also working on performance scaling of Recon application for finding bottlenecks and decrease execution time. Improving security in P2P file sharing based on Network Coding for DTN We have carried out this project in two phases. The first phase includes literature survey for security issues which dwells in delay tolerant network, network coding and peer to peer file sharing system based on network coding. It describes there are many possible attacks in DTN which results into inherent presence of them in peer to peer file sharing system for DTN. The researchers have explored pollution attack, packet drop attacks and its defense schemes as their major concern of their research compared to other possible attacks. The comparison of different defense schemes for pollution attack is elaborated in this thesis. We have shown flaws in each scheme and those schemes which can overcome these flaws. Based on this survey, we have proposed one algorithm which provides defense scheme against pollution attack. December 2015
Automated Stock Market Trading System This project attempted to develop models for prediction of the stock market and to decide whether to buy/hold the stock using data mining and machine learning techniques. The machine learning technique like Naive Bayes, k-Nearest Neighbor(k-NN), Support Vector Machine(SVM), Artificial Neural Network(ANN) and Random Forest has been used for developing of prediction model. HRMS Customization Based On Evolving Requirements Of STMicroelectronics (Industry Project) PeopleSoft HRMS package is developed by PeopleSoft Inc., (acquired by Oracle Corporation). It helps the management in planning and managing the basic functionalities of their business economically and efficiently. But it comes as a generalized package which is not exact as per requirements of the company; hence it needs to be customized. Also as vendor understands this requirement, it has provided tools to make customizations into the existing HRMS package. December 2015
Automated Data Governance System (Industry Project) The idea behind an automated data governence system is to aid the managers to manage the resources (peoples, hardwares, softwares) to see the data at team level along with year such that then can manage resorces acording to the pending work and also plan for the future work.it helps them to analyse data in the form of graphs that becomes easy for them for such large amount of data.This way the organization can leverage the best out of the people and help develop a skill centric resource pool, manages the resources, schedule the projects on bases of requirements.
