Dr. Urmil V. Dave obtained M.E. (Structure) in 1997 from Sardar Patel University and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in 2009 from IIT Bombay. Dr. Dave has around twenty years of professional experience which includes eighteen years of academic experience of teaching at undergraduate and post graduate level as well as two years of industry experience of design of structures. He is presently guiding 3 PhD students. He has guided more than 30 projects at M. Tech. (CASAD). He has completed 04 student projects from Institution of Engineers (India) and Gujarat Council of Science & Technology. At present he has been working for an international collaborative research project along funded by IC-IMPACTS along with University of Victoria, Canada. He has published number of papers at National and International conferences and journals. He has co-authored a book on “Mechanics of Solids”. He has been actively involved in consultancy and testing work related to concreting materials and Repair & Rehabilitation of Structures. He has been invited for giving expert talks in various programmes by companies and academic institutions. He has organized different short term training programmes, seminars and conferences. He has been the recipient of travel grant from DST and AICTE. He has been working as a reviewer for various journals. He received award for ‘Highly Commendable Paper’ at 1st Conference on “Recent Advances in Concrete Technology”, September 2007, at Washington D.C., U.S.A. He was felicitated for Guiding the Best M. Tech. Thesis in Civil Engineering (I Prize) on “NSM Reinforcement for Strengthening of Beams” by ISTE in December 2010.
