Prof. (Dr.) P. N. Tekwani is presently working as Professor and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department of Institute of Technology, Nirma University (NU), Ahmedabad. In his career span of more than 22 years, he has worked for AMTECH Electronics India Ltd.,-Gandhinagar, Electrical Research and Development Association-Vadodara, and Nirma University, at various positions such as; Junior Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Engineer, Senior Engineer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Associate Professor, Professor, Section Head, and Head of the Department. During 2012-2016, he served as Chairman of Board of Studies of Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Instrumentation & Control Engineering Programmes of Nirma University. He has also worked as Director (i/c) - Institute of Technology, and Dean (i/c) - Faculty of Technology and Engineering of Nirma University for the Academic Year 2015-16. He worked as member of Faculty of Technology and Engineering, and Academic Council of Nirma University. He also works as Senior Administrative Officer in the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and Professor In-Charge of Industry-Institution Interaction (III) Cell of Institute of Technology, Nirma University. His areas of interest are Power Electronics, Machines, Power Supplies, Multi-Level Inverters, Drives, Active Power Filters, and Power Quality. He is Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, with Tag Corporation Medal Award for ‘Best Ph.D. Thesis’. Also, he is ‘First Rank’ holder in M.E., and ‘University First (Gold Medallist)’ in B.E. He is the recipient of following prestigious awards also: Prof. Muhammad H. Rashid Best Paper Award-2017 in IEEE International Conference, Rajarambapu Patil National Award for The Most Promising Engineering College Teacher-2016, ISTE-CVM Award for the Best Engineering College Teacher in Gujarat State-2014, ISTE-L&T National Award-2011 for Guiding Best M.Tech. Thesis in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Young Engineer National Award 2010-11 from Institution of Engineers (India), ISTE-SGSITS National Award for Best Research By Young Faculty-2009, Young Engineer National Award-2008 from Indian National Academy of Engineering, Hari Ohm Ashram Prerit Bhaikaka Inter-University Smarak Award for the Best Technical Research Paper 2006-07, Best Engineer "Mylavaram" Award-2001 for Excellence in Work at ERDA. He has authored more than 90 national and international research papers (getting him more than 1000 Citations, and h-index of 14). The countries in which he has published research papers are: India, Canada, USA, England, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Singapore, Japan, and Australia, to name a few. He worked as Instructor for Robocon Team of Nirma University, and as National Champions, represented India in International ABU-Robocon Competition-2003 at Thailand. He has guided 2 Ph.D. theses, 44 M.Tech. dissertations.
