The students’ societies are the pivot around which the extra-curricular activities of the Institute revolve and play a significant role in the Institute life of the students. They serve as an important adjunct to course work also since it sponsors lectures by eminent engineers, debates, competitions, general knowledge quiz, essay competitions and various programmes and, in general, stimulate interest in the diverse spheres of a student’s life including games and sports. It provides ample opportunities for the students to develop their abilities in fine arts by conducting music competitions, dramatics, etc. This encourages emotional integration amongst students to a very great extent.

Main Aims and Objectives
To promote disciplined corporate, intellectual, civic and cultural life amongst students.
To foster activities to bring out the creative talent of the students.
To promote study (including discussion) of subjects of national and international importance.
To encourage amongst students, awareness of the responsibilities of an individual in democratic society.
To promote social service activities.
To know the latest developments.

Mechanical Enigineering Students Association (MESA)
The aims of establishing MESA are :
To strive for sychronization between academic learning and recent development in Industry.
To provide opportunity for all round development of students.

This association is run by the students and for the students to achieve the above objectives. The faculty advisors are appointed by the department to advise students regarding the various activities conducted by MESA. This helps students to learn the managerial skills also.

Activities of the Associations
MESA, a student body is organising various activities looking to their aims and objectives. The Annual flagship event INGENIUM, a National Level Technical Symposium attracts students talents from all over the country every year.

MESA Library
MESA library was started on August 7, 1998. Initially 17 titles were made available to the students. The present status of library is having 100 titles on different topics like MBA entrance test, GRE book, English improvement etc.

The library is also receiving books from faculty. The books are issued to MESA members and student can retain it for one week. It is monitored by faculty advisor and students. This association was first to start such activities in the institute by student organisation.

Chemical Engineering Students Association (ChESA)

Chemical Engineering Department has a students association titled "Chemical Engineering Students Association (ChESA)". The association was formed with an objective To have an overall development of the students by exposing them to the industry so they prove to be excellent chemical engineers ChESA is an organization, which believes that the strongest people are not always the people who win, but the people who don't give up when they lose. To reach the place from where there is no looking back, seminars, lectures, & quiz competition have been held to fill the gap between the technical skills & life skills for the evolution of a "Complete Engineer".

Construction Technology and Management Students Association (CONTEMSA)
The construction Technology & Management Students Association (CONTEMSA) was instituted in the year 1997 with an objective of encouraging curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to help students to develop their overall personalities. It has been successfully organizing activities like personality development courses, field visits, workshops, group discussion and many more events since then. CONTEMSA has hosted a series of National Symposiums, starting with CONTECH’03 during January 17-18, 2003, then CONTECH’04 during September 2-3, 2004 followed by CONTECH’05, which was held on September 26-27, 2005. All the symposiums were very well appreciated by the students from all over the country and proved to be an overwhelming success. The content and the quality of the technical papers presented by the students were highly appreciated by the professionals from industry.

The Electrical Engineering Student Association (EESA)
The Electrical Engineering Student Association (EESA) – was formed in 1996 with the motto of organizing student centric activities like arranging expert lectures, arranging talks for students opting for higher studies and preparing for competitive exams, interdisciplinary programmes, quizzes, product and project demonstration, social as well as non-technical activities. Students also prepare and display wall magazine. The wall magazine covers various technical as well as non-technical events of current happenings in the world.

The EESA has successfully organized its maiden annual national level technical symposium “VIDHYUT ADHBHUTAM”. The event is a mixed bag of Paper and poster competition, Expert lectures, Workshops on current topics, Model making, Robotic and quiz competition etc.

ISA-Instrument, Systems & Automations
ISA is a 38,000-member global, nonprofit, educational organization connecting people and ideas in automation + control. The Society fosters advancement in the theory, design, manufacture, and use of sensors, instruments, computers, and systems for automation +control in a wide variety of applications. In addition to hosting the largest conferences and exhibitions for automation + control in the Western Hemisphere, ISA is a leading technical training organization and a respected publisher of books, magazines, and standards. ISA also serves the professional development and accreditation needs of Control Systems Engineers (CSE), instrument technicians, and others within the field of automation + control.

Founded in 1945 as a nonprofit, educational organization, ISA has expanded its technical and geographical reach to become a resource for 38,000 Members and thousands of other professionals and practitioners in more than 110 countries around the world.

There are various Regions in ISA, which are further subdivided into Districts. These Districts have Student Sections Operating under them.

The ISA Student Section, Nirma Institute of Technology is one such Section, which is regularly organizing events. This Student Section is under the ISA Gujarat Region, which falls under the Asia Pacific Region. There have been two workshops that have been held under this section.

Electronic and Communication Organization (ECO)
This association was inaugurated in 1998 by Dr. George Joseph, Director, Space Application Center, Ahmedabad. The Electronics & Communication Organization at Institute of Technology, Nirma University, run by the students of Electronics & Communication Engineering Department. We are an organization that consistently comes up with innovative events and also works for development of students as well as the betterment of society.

To motivate and guide each student to achieve his/her goal in life by giving him/her open platform to express ones thoughts , views and to interact with peers as well as the other groups in hierarchy so that one can find his/her hidden interests and talents and can serve the country as worthy engineer of tomorrow.

Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES), Association of Information Technology Students (INFOCRATS), and Association of MCA Students (AMS)
Objective behind the formation of these associations is to give maximum exposure in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Through these associations students are encouraged to conduct and participate in such activities where faculty co-ordinator, department and management of the institute helps is smooth conduction of the activities.
