The department offers three B. Tech programmes in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics & Communication (EC), Instrumentation & Control (IC) and two M.Tech programmes in Power
Electronics, Machines & Drives and VLSI Design. It is proposed to offer M.Tech programme in Instrumentation & Control. The department comprises of three sections –Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication and Instrumentation & Control.
Areas of Electrical Engineering – Electrical Machines, Power Electronics & Drives, Switchgear & Protection, High Voltage Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Control System & Instrumentation, Electrical Networks, Electrical measurement.
Areas of Electronics & Communication – Analog & Digital Electronics, Analog & Digital Communication, Antenna Systems, Microwave Engineering, Fiber Optic Communication, Computer Hardware and Networking, Micro Processor and Micro Controller, Digital Signal Processing, VLSI Design.
Areas of Instrumentation and Control - Measurement and Transducers, Control Systems components, Biomedical Instrumentations, Process Instrumentation and Control, Micro Processors and Micro Controllers
After strengthening UG programmes, the department has gone for two post graduate programmes. One is M.Tech in Power
Electronics, Machines & Drives and the other is M.Tech in VLSI Design. Both the programmes are well received by the students and industries.
The department has enrolled a few candidates for PhD. Under the faculty development programme large number of faculty member are deputed for M.Tech and Ph.D. Many faculty members are likely to complete Ph.D. soon. Hence the department is getting fully equipped to undertake research & development in the state of the art technology.
