The Campus
The institute is situated in Nirma University campus about 15 kms from Ahmedabad city on the Sarkhej – Gandhinagar Highway. A 110-acre sprawling campus in picturesque surroundings provides a refreshing environment, stimulating intellectual alertness and creativity. The campus provides an ambience that motivates students to grow.

Class Rooms
The classrooms are spacious, ventilated and equipped with multimedia and audiovisual equipments to facilitate effective learning. The classrooms are designed to provide maximum interaction between the faculty and students.

Financial Assistance and Scholarship
The University provides interest free financial assistance to the needy UG students to pay their fees and stipend to limited deserving PG candidates.

Computer Centre
Computing facilities for students include a laboratory equipped with 24 computers for UG and 10 for PG to the Windows NT server and Local Area Network. The network also connects the faculty and staff for information sharing and communication. The students have an easy access to the internet. The faculties are also provided computer and internet facilities.

Learning Resources Utilization Centre (Library)

"Knowledge is free at the library, just bring your own container" At Institute, it is a belief to facilitate production & dissemination of knowledge, information, insights & intellect in all scientific communities. Be it an academic program in pharmacy, the participants are facilitated with the latest reading resources from all over the world. The LRUC is the key academic facility provided for the students, research scholars and faculty of the institute. The library includes a wide range of text books and monographs of different branches of Pharmaceutical Sciences and allied subjects and also provides extensive access to leading Indian and international periodicals and research journals.

The Library at Institute of Pharmacy houses more than 6603 volumes of books selectively chosen for reading and reference. The collection includes resources relevant to teaching, learning, training, research and consultancy needs of the Institute. About 68 printed national, 34 international periodicals and 148 e-Journals are subscribed to so that the participants keep themselves updated with the trends in the Pharmacy. The collection includes resources relevant to teaching, learning, training, and research needs of the Institute.

An user-friendly library software called Alice For Windows (AfW) has been adopted at the Library Resource Center so as to make it fully automated. This internationally popular software facilitates automated circulation (issue & return) of the books and speedy access to bibliographies, locations and availability information of the books stocked in the library. A web-based catalogue is also available on the internet for inquiring about the books. In addition to this the software facilitates biometric identification of users, provided efficient resource management system and generates useful management information for effective decision-making.

Apart from this, the institute library has also adopted latest information technology mediums like CD, DVD, Multimedia Kits, The Library is implementing RFID Security Sytem, which has a great potential for performing multiple applications that combines security and item identification in a single tag and reduces library losses by providing effective library direction systems. RFID helps the Library staff to provide other information services to the users, as it saves time of the staff by providing a platform to automate most of the processes performed by the library staff like Check in – Check out, sorting, stock management and inventory. Sophisticated Instrument Laboratory
Institute houses state-of-art analytical instruments like FT-IR, Fluorescence Spectrometer, UV- Spectrophotometer, HPLC, SFC & SFE which provide analysis comprising elemental composition, chromatography, diffraction, particle/material characteristics including various spectroscopes. The Sophisticated Instrument Lab provides analytical support and intellectual input to both in-house and externally funded R & D projects of the Institute.

The resources available for laboratory work and training of students are utilized very efficiently and effectively. As a result of excellent laboratory facilities and their proper utilization under the supervision of our faculty, the pass outs will have an edge for immediate employment.

Research Laboratory

A fully dedicated research laboratory helps the faculty members to undertake sponsored research projects as well as to carry out doctoral research work in various areas.

Animal House
Our Institute has conventional two-florey animal house facility registered by CPCSEA (IAEC), Government of India. It is envisaged to provide pre clinical testing in conformity with national and international regulatory guidelines. The animal house will facilitate the availability of healthy and homogeneous animals for routine teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate studies as well as for research / outsourced testing.

Machine Room

Centralized machine room is equipped with Rotary tablet machine, Automated Dissolution apparatus, Fluidized bed drier, Freeze drier, Mini Spray drier, Digital tensiometer, Ampoule, capsule and ointment filling machine etc. the laboratory provides the facilities to get an idea regarding the functioning of machines at all levels by the students.

Medicinal Plants Garden

A medicinal plants garden – “Nirma Herbal Wealth” covering a total area of 2000 sq. meters has been developed at the university campus. More than 170 Genus of various medicinal plants have already been planted. The plants grown in this garden are useful in the practical classes of Pharmacognosy & Phyto-chemistry. This developed medicinal plants garden provides a strong impetus for herbal drug research and for the training of our postgraduate students in the subject of Phyto-pharmaceuticals & Natural Products.

Herbal Museum

A herbal museum has been developed at the Institute of Pharmacy. The museum displays about 80 crude drugs of natural origin, some animal and plant specimens and few plant specimens and few charts of crude drugs. The museum helps the students in recognition and identification of crude drugs of natural origin in the subject of pharmacognosy.

Students Store
Students store is run on no profit and no loss basis and provides all the necessary materials like stationary instrument etc. to students.

Transport Facility
Transport facility is provided to students from their residence to the institute and back. For this University has its own fleet of new buses which ply on pre-decided routes.

Bank
For the benefit of students and staff members, an extension counter of Sola road branch of Kalupur Commercial Co-operative Bank has been provided on the university campus.

Hostel
The excellent hostel facility is available to girls and PG students on request and for UG boys, the facility will come up soon.

Canteen
A modern canteen building provides hygienic and wholesome food, snacks and beverages.

Play Grounds
Playgrounds for Cricket, Volleyball, Football, and other games are available in the campus. Indoor games facilities have also been created. Full-fledged gymnasium facility is also available for students.
