· Introduction of a new course of B.Pharm
Hons. (5 Year Integrated Programme) in the
academic year 2007-2008.
· State of art Postgraduate Building for
Masters, Ph.D and Faculty Research
comprising of Laboratories in all fields of
pharmaceutical specialization in the
academic year 2007-2008.
· State of art animal house for housing
more than 250 animals like rat, mice, guinea
pig and rabbits as per CPCSEA guidelines.
· Establishment of Institute of Pharmacy,
Nirma University of Science and Technology
Alumni Association and commencement of its
activities (IPNUAA).
· Prof. Y.K.Agrawal has received a grant of
Rs. 41,52,600/- by the GMDC Science and
Research Center for a research project
entitled “Supramolecular: Nanomedicine and
nanotechnology pre-concentration, separation
and recovery of toxic trace metal”. A grant
worth of Rs. 32,00,000/- has been given for
a permanent equipment.
· Prof. Y.K.Agrawal received a grant of
sum of Rs. 60,000/- from Government of
India, Ministry of Science & Technology,
Department of Science & Technology [DST],
New Delhi - & Grant received of sum of Rs.
25,000/- from Council of Scientific and
Industrial Research [CSIR], Human Resource
Development Group, New Delhi for for the
National Seminar on Modern Trends In
Nanotechnology and Supramolecular Assemblies
from 2nd to 3rd April, 2005
· Dr. Tejal Shah received a project
entitled “Studies on design and development
of dissolvable oral drug delivery systems of
a poorly water soluble non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory drug” sanctioned by
GUJCOST for an amount of Rs. 55,000/- in
September 2006.
· Ms. Bhoomika Goyal and Ms. Shraddha
Bhadada received a project entitled
“Comparative evaluation of various ACE
inhibitors, spironolactone and selective
beta blockers on cardiovascular
complications associated with Diabetes
Mellitus” sanctioned by GUJCOST for an
amount of Rs. 60,000/- in May 2007.
· Mr. Hardik G. Bhatt received research
grant of Rs.25000 for the project entitled
“Design, Synthesis and pharmacological
evaluation of some substituted quinoline
derivatives” from Nirma University of
Science and Technology in August 2007.
· Ms. Renuka Mishra received research grant
of Rs.25000 for the project entitled
“Formulation, development of rapidly
dissolving films containing anti-histaminic
drug" in March 2007 from Nirma University of
Science and Technology.
· Ms. Shraddha Bhadada received research
grant of Rs.25000 for the project entitled
“Phytochemical Analysis and Pharmacological
Evaluation of Tephrosia Purpurea with
special reference to Diabetes Mellitus &
Cataract” in December 2007 from Nirma
University of Science and Technology.
· Ms Jignasa K. Savjani received research
grant of Rs.25000 for the project entitled
“Development and Antimicrobial Screening of
Novel Heterocyclic Molecules” from Nirma
University of Science and Technology in
December 2007.
· Mr. Mayur Patel received research grant
of Rs.25000 for the project entitled
“Formulation and evaluation of colon
targeted drug delivery system of mebeverine
hydrochloride" in January 2009 from Nirma
University of Science and Technology.
· Mr. Dhaivat Parikh received research
grant of Rs.25000 for the project entitled
“Formulation and development of floating
dosage from of cinnarizine" in January 2009
from Nirma University of Science and
Technology.
· Mr. Kuntal Manna received research grant
of Rs.25000 for the project entitled
“Synthesis of certain macromolecular ligands
or receptors and their biological
applications” from Nirma University of
Science and Technology in January 2009.
· Prof.Y.K.Agrawal is a recipient of
A.T.Athavale Award 2005 for his contribution
to Analytical Chemistry by Society of
Analytical Scientists India.
· Prof. Y.K. Agrawal received the SPARCS,
IIT, New Delhi, Award for his outstanding
work in Application Research in Chemical
System of 2006.
· Dr.Tejal Shah received best paper award
2004 granted by Association of
Pharmaceutical Teachers of India for
publishing paper entitled “Patient
counselling by Pharmacists” in the official
publication Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical
Education and Research.
· Ms. Bhoomika Goyal received prestigious
G.Achari prize at the 38th Annual conference
of India Pharmacological Society for best
research paper presented by young research
scientist in 2007.
· Ms. Bhoomika Goyal received the N. S.
Dhalla Young Scientist Award for Basic
Sciences during Joint conference of
International Society of Heart Research,
International Academy of Cardiovascular
Science & Heart Failure Society of India for
paper presentation in 2008.
· Consultancy work was conducted on
“Formulation and development of effervescent
tablets” by the Department of Pharmaceutics
for Alfrez Pvt. Ltd., Vadodara.
· Consultancy work on “New drug delivery
system/sustained release/extended release
formulation by the Department of
Pharmaceutics for Themis Medicare Ltd.,
Mumbai.
· Consultancy work on an R & D project by
the Department of Pharmaceutics for Vac-U-Max
Asia Pvt. Ltd. for validating Pneumatic
Conveying systems.
· Ms. Bhoomika R. Goyal attended 2nd World
Congress 2006 International Academy of
Cardiovascular Sciences between 14th July to
16th July 2006 at SAPPORO, JAPAN for
research paper presentation on “Comparative
Evaluation of atenolol and Metoprolol on
cardiovascular complications associated with
streptozotocin induced type I diabetes
mellitus in rats.”
· Dr. Priti J. Mehta attended the 35th
conference of federation of Analytical
Chemists and Spectroscopy Society between
28th September to 2nd October 2008 at RENO,
NEVADA, USA for research paper presentation
on “Simple and rapid spectrophotometric
method for the estimation of erythromycin
esters in its marketed dosage forms.”
