We are proud of our alumni who have topped GPSC 2017-18 exams. Aastha Dangar, the alumni of Computer engineering department ranked 13th and stood 3rd among the females. She will serve as the Deputy Collector in Gujarat Administrative Services and Mr. Dhruvin Patel, the Alumni of Electrical Engineering ranked 33rd and is selected as "District Registrar (Class - I)"

Three students from EC Sem-IV (Karan Shah, Stuti Garg, Vivek Talwar) stood first at Tata Crucible Hackathon 2018 for the event "The Haystack Mathematician Challenge". Its a part of open innovations challenges of the TATA group.

Tata Crucible Hackathon,West zone final was held at KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai on 16th March 2018.

With high energy in the early hours of the day, teams gathered in the halls of KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, to throw their hats in the ring for the ultimate prize at the West Zone finals for Tata Crucible Campus Hackathon 2018. 32 teams, shortlisted from over 130 entries, attended the event. The judges had a tough time shortlisting the teams in the first round. Post evaluation, 9 teams made it to the final pitching round:

Team ‘Einstein_Thunders’, all the way from Nirma University, Ahmedabad, presented a prototype on Haystack Mathematician, and won the final. Team Einstein_Thunders from Nirma University (Vivek Talwar, Karan Shah and Stuti Garg) were awarded a cash price of Rs. 35000/- .

QUIZO-2018 -  A technical quiz competition  was organized on March 11, 2018  by ASHRAE WIC.Twenty four teams from premier engineering colleges of Gujarat and Indore participated in the event.

With the aim to promote and sensitize engineering students about HVAC&R field , the event also provided an opportunity to the students to demonstrate their technical capabilities. in front of their peers,leading academic scholars, and industry experts.

Nirma University team of Mr Shreejit Nair of 3rd year B.Tech and Mr Kuldip Lakhani, 2nd Year M.Tech student secured 3rd prize and cash prize in the event. Heartiest congratulations to the team and faculty advisor Prof. B A Shah.

Institute of Technology won the ABU National ROBOCON 2018 hosted by Doordarshan and Maharashtra Institute of Technology(MIT) Academy of Engineering at Balewadi Sports Complex. They defeated MIT Pune in the finals. Nirma will now represent India at the International Robocon 2018 to be held in Vietnam in August.

Institute of Technology beat VJTI in the finals with a power packed performance that saw them score 59 points against MIT’s 27.

Institute of Technology bagged the Prof. Balakrishna Memorial Award. The winners were given a gold medal, citation and Rs1 lakh cash prize.
