Dr. Madhuri Bhavsar (Professor and HOD – Information Technology, IT, NU) received ISTE CHARUTAR VIDYAMANDAL VALLABH VIDYANAGAR Best Engineering College Teacher Award for Gujarat State-2017 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Academic Community and Students. She received the award at  47th ISTE National Annual Convention held at Kottayam in January 2018.

E. P. Nicolaides Prize for paper titled "Torsional Strenthening of RC Beams Using GFRP Composites" (published in the Series 'A' Journal of IEI, Vol. 97, Issue 3) has been awarded to authors, Paresh V Patel (Professor and Head of Civil Engineering Department), Vishnu H. Jariwala (Alumni, Civil Enineering Department, IT_NU) and Sharadkumar P. Purohit (Professor, Civil Engineering Department) during 32nd Indian Enineering Congress hosted by The Institute of Engineers (India) during 21-23 Deceber 2017 at Chennai.

An expert lecture on District Cooling system by Mr Gaurang Patel followed by visit to GIFT city District Cooling System, organised by ASHRAE WIC on 20/1/2018. About 30 ASHRAE student members from the mechanical department take part in the said event. The lecture and visit was very informative and fruitful to all the ASHRAE members.

With impulse reading as her hobby and strong background in Quantitative Aptitude, Aditi scored 99.98 percentile, and the only girl who topped the city. Aditi Kaviya, who is currently in her 4th year of B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Nirma University said "While many say do smart work and not hard work, my success mantra is that hard work is extremely important."

Institute of Technology hosted its  annual alumni meet on 6th January, 2018 at the institute’s campus. Event was organized by the Nirma Institute of Technology Alumni Association (NITAA), 

Alumni meet witnessed the participation of alumni from various parts of the country and abroad. A number of alumni visited the campus with their families making the event all the more interesting.

Welcoming everyone at the Annual General Meeting Dr. Alka Mahajan, Director, Institute of Technoloy said that “Every year passing, the alumni community of NITAA is becoming stronger and I am glad to see the representation from various programs and batches.” 

Dr. Mahajan appreciated several achievements of the alumni and expressed her pleasure over this yearly activity of connecting the vast alumni network. Pointing out how alumni of NITAA have played a major role in making the institute among India’s top Institutes, She said she was pleased with the increase in the number of alumni turning into successful entrepreneurs every year. “You are giving employment and thereby making this country and the institute proud”, she said. The Director also commended the efforts of the NITAA members who have made it to a point to hold regional meets in different parts of the country and abroad.

Post  AGM, the event had amazing performance like melody songs, mime, dance and fun activities by our existing students  who made our alumni feel delighted. The gala dinner in the evening provided a great opportunity to network.
