1. Process Control and Control System Components Laboratory:

Process Control is an important area of Instrumentation and Control Engineering. The process control laboratory furnishes the required set up to understand the basic principles. SCADA based control trainers for simple feedback control systems to complex control systems are available. The major facilities of the laboratory are as follows:

2. Programmable Logic Controller Laboratory:


Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Laboratory is the strength of the section. The PLC laboratory houses PLCs from several leading companies with related programming software. This facilitates the hands on exposure to students on industrial PLCs. The following make PLC and required programming software are available in the laboratory.

3. Project and Simulation Laboratory:

To facilitate the students with application oriented work, the project and simulation laboratory is equipped with various test and measuring instruments along with various hardware and associated programming facilities.  The laboratory also provide the platform to debug the project using the real time simulation software.

4. Power Electronics & Drives Laboratory:


This laboratory is aimed to enable students to understand the fundamentals of power electronics semiconductor devices, power converters and electric drives. The laboratory is equipped with the experimental set-ups and students are exposed to hands on design experiments. The laboratory provides ample opportunity to carry out projects effectively. The laboratory outfits the need of experiments for UG and PG programmes.

  • Experimental setups for power electronics Applications like inverters, choppers, speed control of a.c. and d.c. motors, characteristics of IGBT & MOSFET, a.c. voltage controllers.

5. Microprocessor and Microcontroller Laboratory:

This laboratory provides the platform for the students to understand the architecture and interfacing of microprocessor and microcontroller.  The laboratory is equipped with the different experimental set-ups. Facility is provided to the students to do hands on for testing their programming codes. The laboratory also enables students to carry out projects very effectively.

6. Analog and Digital Electronics Laboratory:

This laboratory provides the platform for the students to understand the behaviour of the circuit related to Analog Electronics and Digital Electronics. The laboratory is equipped with the different experimental set-ups. Facility is provided to the students to do hands on for observing the response of the circuits and to carry out the testing of the circuits. The laboratory also provides the base for doing projects effectively.
