Institute of Technology

Rotaract Club of Nirma Institutes, the largest club present on campus, organises the most extravagant and voluminous socio-cultural events throughout the year. The only university level club which has more than 1000 members from all the institutes like Technology, Pharmacy, Law, etc, aims at creating synergy through socio-cultural events.

Since its inception on February 25, 1998, the main motive of the club is to foster innate talents in students and serve as a launching pad for their journey of self-development through their engagement in extra-curricular activities. Precisely, it aims at ‘phenomenal growth of youth’. Fondly called as Team RCNI, the club organizes various national level events of various genres like theatre, music, dance, talent hunt, quizzing, literature, art and sports spliced with a myriad of innovative social events held throughout the year.

It also formulates the annual cultural festival - HORIZON, the most sought-after culfest of Gujarat. Held towards the end of February every year, this national level annual extravaganza aims at encouraging people to unleash their innovative potential and create an unforgettable experience for each and every visitor. RCNI provides a three day spectacle of unparalleled excitement, nerve wrecking competitions and phenomenal performances by the biggest stars of India like Agnee, Sunidhi Chauhan and Mohit Chanuhan etc, thus attracting a whopping crowd of over 8,000 students from colleges all over the country!

As part of its social initiative, Khwahishein-Adopt a Wish was initiated by RCNI which aims at fulfilling the wishes of the under-privileged section of society. “Rape-Free India Campaign” was another project taken up in order to support gender equality, respect women and create a safer, “Anti Rape Society” and thus shape a brighter future. A signature campaign wherein 10,000 Amdavadis signed and pledged to build a safer society was organized along with a rally across Ahmedabad to spread awareness regarding the same to the masses. In addition to these ventures, RCNI conducts blood donation drives and visits to villages and old age homes to help in the development of the society.

RCNI is felicitated with several awards year after year by the Rotary International Dist.3050 and 3051. Apart from awards for Best President, Best General Secretary, Best Events, DRR Citation award and the likes of these, RCNI procured the Best Rotaract Club award for empowering youth activities in society and dedicating itself to the ideals of service above self. Recently, Prof. H K Patel,Faculty advisor, RCNI is awarded with the prestigious Rotaract Ratna Award, by Rotary International District 3051.
