The Institute is the fastest upcoming Institute. Within a short period of less than a decade, it has been ranked in the category of premium Institutes of India. It has most advanced infrastructure for students. The Institute also has the best faculty having both academic and industry background. Faculty members undertake research and develop instruction materials on a continuous basis. Most importantly, the Institute cares for its students by carrying out counseling, mentoring & involving various institutional activities.
Its is a Two-year residential programme. The aim of the programme is to mould future managers, who would be future business architects and who would contribute to the business community through their impeccable service and leadership. The programme is designed keeping the requirement of the industries and global development in mind. The outcomes of the programme are well defined. The interface with the industry is at the optimum level so that the passing out graduates feel comfortable right from day one in their careers. The faculty are the masters of their area and also have good industry exposure.

As the Institute is autonomous, the programme curriculum is reviewed and revised from time to time. Case study method and project method are the main pedagogical tools. The Programme is designed in trimesters. The student has to complete specified credit hours in each trimester. Students have to do project work and industry interaction. On an average, every student is expected to work for 10 hours a day.
The Programme is designed as a residential programme for various reasons. The learning takes place during classroom sessions and even after that. Students are required to work on various projects and their working hours extend till late evenings. They are also required to work on library projects for which purpose the library is open until mid-night.

For students at IM the learning takes place during their post-classroom time discussions. They work in teams. Their typical day starts from 8.00 a.m. and it may last upto mid-night. The vigorous and tight schedule is the first lesson they learn from the Institute. The students work for long hours. All this is possible when they are in the campus for 24 hours.
In the MBA (FT) programme we offer specializations in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business and Information Technology areas.
The admissions procedure for students consists of two steps. The applicant is required to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs in the first phase. The Common Admission Test is usually held in the month of November. In the second phase, short listed candidates are called for Theme Development and Presentation and Interview at selected centres. The admission results are generally announced in the month of April.
A three-year bachelor's degree (10+2+3) or its equivalent in any discipline from a statutory university. Candidates appearing in the final examination of a bachelor's degree can also apply. Adequate weight is given for work experience.
The Institute has a full-fledged placement office with modern facilities. We are able to place 100% of our students. There is a Chairman (Placement), who is supported by Manager (Corporate Relations) and an office assistant. There are student and faculty placement committees. The activities of the placement office are driven by students. The Institute plays the role of a facilitator.
We generally receive 8000 applications in a given year; of these we admit 240 candidates.
