ILNU Model United Nation Conference 2017

We feel privileged to invite you to the 3rd Edition of the Institute of Law Nirma University Model United Nations Conference 2017.

The 3rd Edition of the Institute of Law Nirma University Model United Nations Conference is taking place on 27th-29th January, 2017 at the Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and is aimed towards providing a memorable experience to all the participating delegates, as they will be acquainted with the real essence of diplomacy, international relations and the true simulation of the United Nations.

In our country, Model UN conferences have become very prevalent, giving the participating delegates a chance to try their hands at a certain form of debating. But at ILNU Model United Nations Conference, we aim towards the formulation of a humane world. We provide a chance to every participant to act as a Diplomat/Representative of a Sovereign Member Nation. We give them a platform wherein they can experience the most authentic simulation of the United Nations. This is the reason which inspires us to strive and work hard to make the ILNU Model UN Conference the best one in the country.

Keeping that in mind, the structure of the conference is designed in such a way which will primarily focus on Diplomacy. The councils to be simulated at the 3rd Edition of the ILNU Model UN Conference, along with their agendas, are as follows:-

2. United Nations Human Rights Council [UNHRC]
3. United Nations General Assembly-Disarmament and International Security Committee [UNGA-DISEC]
4. United Nations General Assembly- Legal Committee [UNGA-Legal]
5. International Press [IP]

The Registration Fee for the event is Rs. 1,000 without accommodation and Rs. 2,000 with accommodation. The conference even has a Best Delegation Prize which will be awarded to the Institute which has the maximum points as per the criteria set by the Secretariat. 7th National Moot Court Competition

It gives us immense pleasure to announce that the annual flagship event of Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad is all set to repeat its success story, this time bigger and better.

It is a matter of immense pride for us that the 7th Institute of Law Nirma University National Moot Court Competition, 2017 is going to be conducted in association with the Chambers of Mr. K.T.S. Tulsi, Sr. Advocate, Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

This prestigious moot court competition is a benchmark in India’s mooting circuit and is highly known for its impeccable judging by experienced legal stalwarts. This year, the ILNU moot presents a challenging proposition based on critical areas of Criminal Law and other allied issues.

The moot seeks to preserve and further the sacred memories of Shri Gursharan Singh Tulsi, revered father of Shri K.T.S. Tulsi, Sr. Advocate, Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, who had a formidable reputation for excellence and integrity throughout his life. He was a firm believer in fair trial and justice. This competition also seeks to be a trendsetter in the field of criminal law moot court competitions, because we, at Institute of Law, Nirma University, believe in being nothing but the best.

The moot court competition will be held from February 10th, 2017 to February 12th, 2017 at Institute of Law, Nirma University, S.G. Highway, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Please refer the links below for complete information regarding the event. We look forward to your enthusiastic participation.

Sixth International and Tenth Biennial Conference of the Indian Society of Victimology (ISV), 2017

Sixth International and Tenth Biennial Conference of The Indian Society of Victimology, is going to be organized by Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat  in collaboration Indian Society of Victimology from February 23-25, 2017 on the broad theme “Ensuring Victim participation in Criminal Justice System” , with the aim of encouraging research in bringing out the synergy involved in the collaboration between multiple disciplines of Victimology.

Motivated by the stupendous success of Fourth International and Eighth Biennial Conference of the Indian Society of Victimology organized by Madras University, the niche of 2017 conference is synthesis, more than analysis.

The Conference aims to provide an international platform for scholars across multiple social science disciplines to come together, and share their research on victim rights, services for victims and other victimological research.

The Conference will provide an opportunity to interact with academics, researchers, law enforcement personnel, prosecutors, judges and policymakers from around the world.

The plenary sessions of the conference will include lectures by notable experts in the field. The conference will also provide an opportunity for young and senior scholars alike to network, share knowledge and keep track of the current trends and concerns in victimological research.
