In order to promote the artistic skills of students, RANGOTSAV  - Rangoli Competition was organized by ICNU on the theme "INDIAN CULTURE". The teams showcased their artistic skills beautifully.

The winning team illustrated the theme of "ATITHI DEVO BHAVA". The winning team comprised of:-

A Formal Freshers' was organized on 27th July 2018 by the students of Second Year for the newly admitted  B. Com. (Hons) batch of 2018-21 at Pharmacy Auditorium.  The main purpose was to welcome the new students and make them feel an integral part of ICNU as well as Nirma University family. The event started with traditional ritual of seeking blessings of Goddess Saraswathi. A group of students from the second year gave dance performance to welcome the new students. Various team games like Bingo and Bollywood Quiz were played with zeal and enthusiasm. Treasure Hunt event served as icing on the cake. Teams comprised of students from both first year and second year to help increase interaction among them.

The event also reiterated on ICNU being a ragging free campus so that students can comfortably settle in the academic environment. The winners of all the games were felicitated in the prize distribution ceremony.The event ended with High Tea.

Institute of Commerce, Nirma University inducted first year students on 11th July 2018. Mr. Ghanshyam Thakkar – CFO, Gujarat Investments Corporation Ltd and Financial Controller – Gujarat RERA graced the occasion as chief guest. Speaking at the event Mr. Ghanshyam Thakkar highlighted the need for continuous learning. He advised the freshers to be ready to become a part of change process - Unlearn and Relearn, sharpen skills through practise and be self-learners.
Prof Anup Singh – Director General, Nirma University graced the occasion by delivering presidential remarks. Prof Singh focused on the significance of self-learning, taking responsibility and showcasing modesty, professionalism and integrity. He advised freshman batch to be life-long learners and cultivate the 21st century skills of communication, technological, innovation, team-work and self-development.  
Delivering official welcoming address Prof Udai Paliwal – Dean, Institute of Commerce congratulated the students and parents for making the right choice of choosing ICNU as their knowledge partner in today’s competitive world. Highlighting ICNU growth and development plans he underlined the ICNU commitment to overall personality development of its graduates while preparing them both for the world of the work as well as self-employment. Dr. Sumita Shroff Goyal proposed a formal vote of thanks during the official opening of the induction programme.
A Session on Anti-Ragging/ Anti-Drug Movement was conducted by Prof. Sanjay Jain (IMNU) and Dr. Avani Shah (ICNU). The Micro Lab conducted by IMNU Faculty Ms. Shrestha Dabral provided the new students an opportunity to interact with each other and know their classmates with whom they are going to spend their upcoming three years.
Senior faculty at IMNU, Mrs. Sunita Guru, hosted an enriching session on combating plagiarism. A session was conducted on the topic Global Career opportunities in Management Accounting by Mr. Satish Mistry (CIMA Global, Mumbai) who enlightened the students regarding the course of Chartered Management Accountant. Prof. Udai Paliwal, Dean ICNU, briefed the students about rules and regulation that students are expected to abide by for three years. Listing some few, would be college timings, rules within the class such as no use of cell phones, no ragging within the campus, attendance requirements, CBCS, examination and assessment procedures, Grievance handling mechanism etc. Mr. Bhavesh Parekh, Coordinator, Student Welfare Activities briefed the students about the activities conducted by the Students’ Welfare Board with the objective of all-round development of the students of the University with focus on the physical, social, cultural and spiritual well-being of the students.
Mr. Nooh Kaushal (ACCA) conducted a session on career opportunities with ACCA qualification. A session was conducted by Dr. Sumita Shroff &Senior Students where they briefed the students about the various clubs & Committees at ICNU They also briefed the students regarding the various activities conducted by ICNU in past 2 years. Dr. Rajesh Patel explained the students about health facilities available within the campus; how students can anytime approach the health center at the time of emergency. He said that the center is well-equipped with modern technology, equipment and basic medication.

Mrs. Monita Shastri introduced the Library Resources to the students. The Library is highly sophisticated with state-of-art facilities. It provides online resources as well as digital resources. To facilitate users with reading and brain storming, separate reading rooms have been provided along with the libraries.
Professor Madhuri Bhavsar of ITNU briefed the students about the issues related to gender sensitization. She also guided the students about the Woman Development Cell which works for the safety of women and protects them from the crimes against the women and she also aware about the institute level and university level members to the students for addressing their queries and complaints.    Dr. Avani shah briefed the students about the teaching pedagogy and learning system at Institute level.

Institute of Commerce, Nirma University oriented its second and third year students on 2nd July 2018. CA Aniket S. Talati, Partner – Talati and Talati, Chartered Accountants and Secretary – WIRC of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India graced the occasion as chief guest. CA Aniket S. Talati enlightened students on the future prospects and opportunities for commerce graduates including those as Chartered Accountants, ACCAs, CIMAs or BFSI professionals. Mr Talati enlightened the students on new legislations like GST, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code and motivated students to pursue career in these fields. He discussed on potentialities of world of commerce globally as well as highlighted the rising importance and Elucidating role of commerce graduates as GST practitioners or insolvency resolution professionals he explained how new legislations throw a world of opportunities to the commerce graduates.

Delivering the welcoming address, Dean Professor Udai Paliwal highlighted the importance of effective time management and its role in their career paths. Citing appropriate examples he advised students to have the right attitude (A), believe (B) in themselves and make right choices (C) as the combination of ABC helps attain one's carer goals.  Dr. Sumita Shroff Goyal welcomed the guest by offering a floral bouquet while the formal vote of thanks was given by Dr. Avani Shah.

The social committee members of ICNU visited Hiramani Sandhya Jivan Kutir - Old Age Home as a part of their social initiative and to sensitize them towards the needs of Senior Citizens. The members had arranged refreshments, various games as well as musical performances. The idea was to spend a happy time with the elderly members.

Formal Freshers was organized by the students' of Semester III to welcome the Freshmen Batch of 2017. The event served as an ice-breaker for the newly inducted students. Various team games were played to increase the interaction and know each other well. The students also took the handprints of the newly admitted students on canvas which would serve as fond memories for the freshers. The event was full of zeal and enthusiasm.

A Seminar on Emerging Trends in Capital Market was organized on 7th October, 2017 with four broad themes of deliberation on Investment Banking, Investment Advisory Services, Equity Market and Debt Market. The two fold objectives was to give the students an idea of the emerging trends in capital market, and, in the light of that projected scenario, to help them take a more learned decision on what kind of electives they should choose in the third year of the programme.

A Cleanliness Drive was conducted for inculcating a sense of involving physically for ensuring cleanliness of surroundings. Hence, the surrounding areas within the Nirma University Campus were identified which demanded cleanliness. A team of 100 students reached there and they took it up as challenge and cleaned it. They devoted efforts and ensured clean and green surroundings.
