Institute of Architecture, Nirma University celebrated World Architecture Day on 5th October 2015 in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Architects, Ahmedabad Center. 

Greg Truen (saota arrcc, cape town), Kevin Low (small projects, malaysia) and Manit Rastogi (morphogenesis, new delhi) were the speakers at the public lecture organised for event.

As part of curriculum, First International RSP was organized by IA-NU from August 15th- 29th 2015 for IIIrd semester students to Sri Lanka. An intensive study of Galle area in South with its surrounding and habitat settlement was done along with measure drawings. Galle is the best example of a fortified city built by the Portuguese in Southeast Asia, showing the interaction between Portuguese architectural styles and native traditions. Later, Dutch extensively fortified the city during the 17th century. The Galle fort is a world heritage site and is the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers. Students also visited Rehabilitated housing built after Tsunami near Galle Area. The University of Ruhuna, Matara and The University of Moratuwa, Colombo city, Dambulla, Sigriya and Ruwanweli Seya Stupa were other places included in the itinerary along with extensive visit to built works of famous Architect Geoffery Bawa. Director IA-NU, Prof Utpal Sharma and Faculty members Purvi Jadav and Jitesh Mewada accompanied students.

Institute of Architecture celebrated its foundation day on Saturday, 1st August 2015 with lecture by Architect Nimish Patel and Ar Parul Zaveri who also were chief guest for the evening.

Institute of Architecture, Nirma University with Vastu Shilpa Foundation hosted "URBAN HOPES", Lecture by eminent Architect Steven Holl and Inaugurated with Ar B V Doshi, its first architecture and cultural fest KALP 2015.

Students of IA-NU attended a three-day residential workshop at the Shaktiyoga Ashram near Lonavala between February 15th-18th 2015. Organized by well-known Indian classical Dancer, Mandakini Trivedi, It included lecture-demonstrations on concepts of Language of Indian Dance, Ravindra Smriti, Temple in the Ear, Aesthetics and Space, Nature and Architecture etc. Among other invited artists and professionals were Educationist and Bharatnatayam Dancer- Vandana Alase Hazra, Poet and Hindustani Khayal singer Pandit Anand Thakore and environmentalist Prashant Mahajan and Sudha Iyer.  Every morning started with meditation and yoga session. The environment of the ashram, amidst nature and the hills, away form distractions, ensured a highly energizing immersive learning experience. The accommodation was simple and students enjoyed this as much as the excellent food. Last night at Ashram culminated with an excellent music and dance performances celebrating Mahotsav of Shivratri.
