The Institute of Technology, Nirma University has received a research grant of Rupees One Crore by Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India under the scheme 'Vishvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT' . The research grant has been received for five full time and five part time PhD Candidates. The grant amounts to One Crore Rupees and will be applicable from the academic year 2015-16. The Institute is the only private institution which has been granted the research scholarship in the state and among one of the very few in the country.

Anvesh 2015 – Annual Doctoral Conference in Management was held on 03/04/2015 to 04/04/2015 at Institute Of Management, Nirma University. Dr Mukul Jain Sr. VP, Zydus Research Centre delivered the inaugural address. Dr. Anup Singh, Director General, Nirma University and Dr. Garimella, Director, Institute Of Management, Nirma University also graced the occasion and addressed the participants of the conference. Two workshops were organized during the doctoral conference. First workshop titled “What a Doctoral Student Should Know?”  by Dr Sridhar Vaidianathan Of IMT, Hyderabad and  second “Research Designs”  by Dr Vivek  Suneja  of FMS, Delhi were offered to participants of the doctoral conference. There were eleven tracks of paper presentation on Marketing, Human Resources Management, and Finance & Economics areas of management. Five research clinics were organized where one to one interaction of 23 delegates was planned with experts. Anvesh 2015 witnessed 104 abstracts, 64 full papers, 55 delegates and 48 paper presentations. The conference proceedings were published in form of two books titled “Research Trends in Economics, Finance and Marketing” and “Research Trends in General Management” with ISBN which contained 33 selected papers. The Valedictory address was by Dr S. Garimella, Director, Institute of Management, Nirma University.  Three prizes were given.

Nirma University has been accorded recognition as Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India with effect from May 30, 2014. The long and excellent record of research done at Nirma University has brought this coveted recognition and it will also make us eligible to apply for research grants at various agencies, and avail exemption in customs duty, central excise duty on purchases related to research.
