Faculty of Doctoral Studies & Research

Dean's Message

Dr. Dhaval Pujara
It is my privilege to join Faculty of Doctoral Studies and Research (FDSR), Nirma University as the Dean. I sincerely thank all my predecessor Deans for their valuable contribution to the FDSR.

The University started Doctoral Programmes way back in year 2003 and now we have completed more than a decade of our journey towards excellence. In fact, the Doctoral Programmes at Nirma University were initiated with a primary objective of preparing young researchers and to motivate them to contribute to the research activities.

In last one decade, we have concentrated on strengthening our Doctoral Programmes and achieved a few milestones. We have set proper academic regulations and set of procedures. We strictly adhere to the UGC Regulations on minimum standards and procedures for the award of Ph.D. degree. In order to give the real experience of research to the doctoral students, we have identified a few renowned national research centers and industries like, Space Applications Centre (SAC-ISRO), Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), B.V. Patel (PERD) Centre, and Gujarat Forensic Science University, etc. for conducting research in different disciplines. We have prepared Code of Ethics for Research and a comprehensive policy to avoid scientific misconduct and plagiarism.

I am confident that, with the cooperation of the professional colleagues, academicians and research scholars, the FDSR will reach to a noticeable height. Also, with our joint efforts, we will be able to contribute quality research outcome in terms of publications and patents to the society.

I wish enriching experience to all the research scholars and the Ph.D. supervisors.
