Business plan Competition (22nd & 29th April2016)

The Centre for Entrepreneurship held Business plan competition at Institute of Technology on 22nd & 29th April 2016. Business plan competition was announced in last week of March 2016. Firstly, to create awareness on business plan, centre for entrepreneurship held two sessions for students on “How to prepare Business Model Canvass”. After these sessions, students were given two weeks of time to submit their business model canvass.

We received entries from 38 teams, from institute of technology as well as institute of pharmacy First session of final round was held on 22nd April 2016 from 4.00 PM to 6.00 PM. Dr. Somayajulu Garimella, Director Institute of management, Mr Ateet Bajaj, Founder Start51 – crowd funding platform, and Prof. Paramsivan Vellala,institute of technology were invited as Jury of event. Each team were given 5 Minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for question & answers from jury and other participants Second session of final round of business plan competition was held on 29th April 2016. Remaining six teams made their presentation in front of same jury, which was invited in first session.

After carefully evaluation of all teams, Jury made their decision. Dr Garimella was invited to announce the results, before announcing results Dr Garimella appreciated efforts put in by all participating teams. He also gave crucial suggestion on how product should be identified, how to decide price of the product and how marketing plays important role in selling of product. Dr Garimella also appreciated efforts put in by centre for entrepreneurship.

Three teams were announced winners of this competition and were given 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize. Winners were given cash prize of 5000 Rs, 3000 Rs and 2000 Rs to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team. All other teams were given a book as consolation prize.
